The 2024 Classique continues to serve as a living portrait of southeast Seneca Lake, drawing from a collection of sites that together shape its identity. Within a narrow stretch of land, gravelly loam, clay, shale, and limestone converge, each contributing its voice to a wine that is greater than the sum of its parts. The growing season in 2024 offered a sense of steadiness with conditions that allowed for both full ripeness and natural balance across sites. As always, Classique is not defined by a single place, but by the dialogue between community, landscape, and the steady hand of a vintage that allowed everything to fall into place.

Our Classique is our most important wine because it reflects our work on a larger scale. Sixteen different lieux-dits, each vinified separately, are the basis of this wine and represent the DNA of Classique. Our intent with Classique is to harmonize all of the snapshots of terroir provided by the lieux-dits, to create a balanced representation of the small (eight miles) yet complex region that we work in, to communicate the idiosyncrasies of the vintage, and to create a tactile narrative of place.
